THE LACROSSE PROGRAM

The Franklin High School Lacrosse Club was established in 1993 and is governed by a parent board.  Formerly known as the Franklin Rebels, our name was changed in 2020 to the Franklin Admirals.

The Franklin Admirals Men's Lacrosse team plays as a member of the Tennessee Scholastic Lacrosse Association (TSLA). Coaches and players are required to be members of the United States Lacrosse Association (USLA).

The team has won two Division II State of Tennessee Lacrosse Championships (2006 and 2007).

Franklin's team is now a Division I team with District competition including Brentwood, Houston, Centennial, and Ravenwood High Schools. 

In 2017, the Franklin Rebels advanced to the quarter-final division I championship playoff game. It had been 10 years since the team reached the playoff quarter-final.  In addition to the team's success, they were the youngest Varsity team in the state of Tennessee. 

2018 began the year with a new league alignment, with the state being divided into Public and Private leagues. Franklin High Rebels are now classified as Public D1 level Club Sport. Your Franklin Rebels finished third behind Houston (1st) & Brentwood (2nd) with a record of 16 wins and 5 losses.

2019 marked another good year ending the season in fourth place in the state tournament in the toughest public school division. 

Former FHS men's lacrosse players can be found playing at the next level for colleges and universities such as UAH, Georgia, UT, UTC, Hendrix, Lindwood, University of the Cumberlands, among others which provide various levels of assistance and scholarships.

2021/22 the team finised 11-5 and 11-4 losing the state semifinals in back to back years.  15 players being named All State in two years, and two Academic all in Americans in the 21' season. 

Players have moved on to the next level of play at Alabama, Berry, Lincoln Memorial, and Norwich University.


FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL

Franklin High is a public high school with a long history and community traditions. It was established in 1910 with 20 students and 2 teachers. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools first accredited the school in 1941, when there were 13 teachers and a senior class of 53 students. Today the school numbers 1,800 with a faculty of 118, 57% holding advanced degrees. The student population is 91% White, 3.3% Hispanic, 3.2% African-American, 1.9% Asian, and .6% Other with a student/faculty ratio of 21.97 to 1.

 

Over the past four years, 13 students have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, and test scores have remained well above state and national averages. In 2000 Franklin High became the first high school in Tennessee to be accepted as an affiliate member of the International Baccalaureate Program. Franklin High also excels outside the classroom, with a nationally recognized band program, vocal music and drama programs, numerous student clubs and organizations, and competitive athletic programs in every sport sanctioned by the TSSAA.
